Our worship services form the heart of our congregational life. Although services in more free
forms are conducted occasionally, (such as youth- or family services) the order of service follows a well structured
Liturgy which forms an important and valuable part of the Lutheran Worship Service. The Liturgy is the responsive prayer
of the assembled congregation, and the most important parts of it are taken directly from the Bible. The Liturgy can thus
be seen as the prayed Word of God. For more information on the Liturgy, its historical origin and significance,

In addition to the liturgy, the music forms an important part of any service. In 1994 the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Germany brought out a new hymnbook. In addition to such wellknown and well loved hymns
as Ein Feste Burg is unser Gott, the hymnbook also contains newer songs such as the one you heard upon entering the site.
(Laudate si EG 515) In the Afrikaans services the hymnbook Laudate is used, while English speakers use The Australian
Lutheran hymnal. In addition, our services are often enriched by the performance of musicicans before and after the service.
